BATE postpones reconstruction of stadium "Dynama"

 “We will see. There has been no draw yet. We are waiting for the draw and we will adapt to it", - replied the administration of the Minsk stadium "Dynama".

I phoned there because I was worried about the football autumn rather than out of curiosity. Will we be able to watch the games? A reconstruction contract with a Hungarian company has been signed recently and the repair works are supposed to start in November.

Ex-director of the stadium "Dynama" Uladzimir Vilchynski does not see any problem here. The decision to start the repairs was taken when he was still in charge of the stadium. He says that there are enough stadiums near Belarus and that the Barysau players can rent them.

But I was worried in vain. Head of the press service of Barysau BATE Syarhei Dahskevich has reassured me that the group stage of the European Cup will be played in Minsk "Dynama". The club has arranged everything and the repair works will begin after the group stage.

“It was agreed that the reconstruction would be postponed in BATE played in the European Cup matches in autumn".

However, it is not clear what the Barysau players will do if they win the group. Judging by the successful performance of BATE on the international arena, the reconstruction of "Dynama" may be delayed if the Barysau players do not manage to finish the construction of their own stadium by next autumn. It is supposed to open in the autumn of 2013.
