Brand authors: "We are working on the odour of Minsk"
Designers are yet to come up with Minsk City brand drafts, but local officials seem to be happy with everything.
The British company INSTID, authorized by the Minsk City Council, to create the brand of the Belarusian capital, is not yet in a position to unveil the city's symbol.
"We haven’t decided exactly yet. There will be a graphical theme and a musical theme as well. We are currently developing the odour of Minsk, the taste and the street symbol of the city," says INSTID's strategic director Alexander Grand.
Since August 2012 when the British company won the tender to create the brand of Minsk, no concrete decisions have been taken.
However, the company have opened the headquarters in Minsk, using local students as volunteers.
The officials from the Minsk city executive committee have not seen any drafts or sketches of the brand yet. Anyway, they are happy with everything.
Here is the first slogan proposed by a Frenchwoman:
"Minsque. Erotique. Exotique. Romantique" - hilarious, but there are no other suggestions.
The Minsk City Council has allocated 300 million roubles (approx. 30,000 euros) from the city budget to create the city brand.
