"Chagall block" on fire in Vitsebsk
The fire happened on January 2 in the "Jewish block", constructed for the shootings of the movie about the famous artist.
According to the information provided by "Vitsebsk people's news", this block was specially designed for the shootings of Alyaksandr Mita's movie about Mark Chagall last Summer.
The building which imitated the "Beehive" - the famous Paris hostel
where well-known artists lived - set on fire.
Besides, the movie-makers filmed the scenes of the fire which roared in
Vitsebsk on the night Chagall was born precisely in this block under the supervision
of the fire-rescuers. After the shootings were over, the movie-makers wanted to
dismantle the butaffory houses but the city authorities asked to leave them as
a memory about the movie.
