Dzmіtry Us: I am worried about Nyaklyayeu’s health
According to the presidential candidate, the conditions in the KGB detention centre are intolerable: he had to sleep on the floor in a tiny cell.
Рrisoners were allowed to go to the rest-room twice a day.
Dzmitry Us gave an interview to Euroradio on the evening of December 21.
Euroradio: What happened on the night of December 20?
Dzmitry Us: I was delivered to KGB on the night of December 20. They started a criminal case and drew up a report about my detention according to article 293 of the Criminal code. I was imprisoned in KGB. They took away my laces, made me undress, searched me and took away all my belongings. They said I was detained for three days in connection with a criminal case started because of the meeting.
I was in the KGB prison until the afternoon of December 20... They summoned me again on the morning of December 22. He said there was no need to hire a lawyer at that moment. I asked the investigator whether I had to fetch my things and whether they were going to lock me up. He said that I was going to be released for the time being and that it was not clear what would happen later.
Euroradio: Did you see any other candidates in KGB? What are the conditions in the cells?
Dzmitry Us: I didn’t see the other candidates. The conditions are inhuman and intolerable. There were 4 beds in a 3x4m camera and five people were imprisoned there, so I slept on the floor. The cell is bugged. There are no living essentials in it, no rest-room. The cell mates told me that it was allowed to go to the rest-room twice a day – in the morning and in the evening.
There is very little space in the cell, it is choke-full. Some people spend months and years there. The conditions are difficult, especially for elderly people. I am worried about Nyaklyayeu’s health; he may not endure it for long.
Euroradio: How did you feel when you were delivered there?
Dzmitry Us: They had received an order and they were to obey it. I could not say they were satisfied with that dirty work... I should say that they sympathized with us and understood us seeing what was going on.
Euroradio: Did the investigator visit you?
Dzmitry Us: He did, I had to give a written undertaking not to leave the country and was ordered to keep contact with them. They took away my passport and cell phone.
They asked me about the broken window-panes in the House of the Government. I do not know anything as I was not there at that moment; they asked me about my attitude to it. You must have listened to my statement on TV: there is no sense in attacking an empty building with a janitor and a cleaner inside. I think it was a provocation.
It was done to make Sannikau, Statkevich and the others look like “hooligans”. But they are clever people, they would not have done it. What is the use of entering the empty House of the Government with a janitor and a cleaner inside? Men of sound judgment could not do it!
Euroradio: Did you give a written undertaking of non-disclosure?
Dzmitry Us: I didn’t.
Euroradio: What will happen next?..
Dzmitry Us: Revenge. Lukashenka will take full revenge on Rymasheuski, Sannikau, Statkevich and Nyaklyayeu...
Euroradio: Are you afraid of being arrested for an uncertain term?
Dzmitry Us: Everything depends on Lukashenka, ask him. He will reply: everything is according to the law. And our law is Alyaksandr Ryhoravich. He may wake up in a bad mood, dislike something, say something – and nobody will be able to do anything. He does not want to lose his power. And he can’t. If he tries to head for the democratic Europe, it will demand a fair election and liberalization and it will not be to his advantage because it will result in the loss of power and legal proceedings. That is why he has to support Russia and it will support him with the help of some preferences.
Euroradio: Did you experience pressure, did they blackmail you?
Dzmitry Us: I was asked about the House of the Government. They told me that window-panes were broken there and asked me about my attitude to it. I said my attitude was negative because there was no sense in behaving like hooligans. I wrote a statement about the events and it was read. I am sure that it was organized by security agencies to subject Statkevich and Sannikau to responsibility for hooliganism, to accuse them of the seizure of a building nobody needed. It is the most independent, nothing depends on it!
Euroradio: So, the only document you signed was the one where you condemned “the assault”, right?
Dzmitry Us: Yes. I see no sense in “the assault”. They started speculating on the topic of “hooligans” and “vandals” who tried to get into the House of the Government because of it. Alyaksandr Ryhoravich will not miss the opportunity to take revenge on Sannikau, Statkevich, Rymasheuski and Nyaklyayeu...
Euroradio: How will it end?
Dzmitry Us: Russia is interested in trampling Lukashenka down. Europe will not recognize the election to be democratic and Russia will manage to put a leash on Lukashenka, he will do what it likes and will not resist. If he resists, it will result in serious social problems several years later. Russia will crush him quickly if he tries to oppose to it and he will be imprisoned. The only way out is to obey, to fulfill their tasks.
Euroradio: Lazavik claimed that the candidates would lodge no complaints.
Dzmitry Us: What can the CEC do? Nothing depends on it, everything depends on the state leader. Everything was decided by local commissions, observers could not take part in the vote count, ballot-papers were not shown to them. Observers should be able to look at every ballot-paper and make sure that it is placed in the right candidate’s pile. I do not even comment on the early voting. It can be 100% rigged. Lukashenka is said to have gained 80% of votes – I mentioned the number in one of my speeches. The information I had has been confirmed, completely confirmed.
