Exposition “Belarusian pipe” in Vitsebsk (photo)
The ancient instrument was presented with the help of photos, lectures and a master class.
The project “Week of pipe music in Belarus” has visited Vitsebsk thanks to the financial support of the small grants programme of the U.S. Embassy and the ethnohistoric centre “Yavar”.
Besides stands with photographs of pipers and information about the history of the pipe in Belarus, artists of Shklou Theatre DiGriz organized a mini lecture and showed a documentary about the history of the instrument. The exposition ended with a master class where the present could learn to dance traditional Belarusian dances to the pipe.
