Grunwald Festival organized in Minsk
Belarusians have celebrated the anniversary of the most important victory in their ancestors’ history by a concert at a small dance pavilion situated
in the heart of in Chalyuskintsau Park.
Rock and folk bands such as UNIA, "Kashaloty voh", "Omut", Rosy and Testamentum Terrae performed at the concert and Rokash gathered all their former members together and even presented their new album “Light the Fire”.
The celebration of the 601st anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald was rather unpretentious: there were about 300 viewers and the tickets cost a bit too much (30 thousands on the concert day) for such sound quality and place (far from the city centre). However, participants of different ages and subcultures were in a good mood: there were teenage “hair shakers”, middle-aged people and young parents – heavy metal fans in trainers with little kids in their arms.
