"International policy studies" graduates work as lab techs for Br 2 million

"International intercourse, world economy - probably, I will work at a serious position, know the processes which are happening in the world economy, analyze. I don't think about the salary much. However, I hope it will correspond with the pass grade. Maybe some 2-3 thousand dollars, after the career growth," Katsiaryna Nesan says.

Katsiaryna entered the University with a state budget scholarship, having got 397 points with her school graduating certificate and 3 tests, and this is a record for the BSU.

Graduate of the foreign policy studies faculty Alyaksandra comes to Minsk city institute for development of education for her first working day. She works as a... lab technician.

"I got here for the externship and I liked it here. I knew I would look for something else but they will accept me here in case of emergency", - Alyaksandra says.

They promised to pay her Br 2 million. This is quite a small sum for a graduate of one of the most prestige faculties.

Graduate of the BSU foreign policy studies faculty Zhenya works in the Cyprus consulate, with a diploma of a culture expert, researcher and teacher. Lucky girl! However, this has nothing to do with the state assignment - she found this job by herself.  

"Many graduates are unemployed, or work as administrators, if they have prior working experience of the kind, as hostesses in restaurants, or go to the hotel business", — Zhenya explains.

She earns about 300 USD at her diplomatic position. This is not that much...

It is weird that graduates of the faculty where the pass grade is no less than 330 at all specialities are not highly demanded at the labour market. No one in the Ministry of Economics recalled hiring "world economy" graduates, while the pass grade there is 366.
