Kastusyou: They wanted to hand in BPF party to new leader!
The BPF Vice-Chairman Ryhor Kastusyou has told about the conspiracy among the party members, in an interview to Euroradio.
Euroradio: To your opinion, why did 92 activists leave the party?
Ryhor Kastusyou: Nothing unexpected happened. These people did not work for the party's benefit for two years, they worked in other parties and their efforts were directed more to cause harm to the party. We knew about it, we knew that these people had an idea to create a new political force, and leaving the BPF confirmed that. They will simply create a new political force.
Euroradio: What does it mean " not to work for the party's benefit”?
Ryhor Kastusyou: If a BPF member is a real BPF member, he should work according to the Charter and the program of the BPF party. If a person supports neither the program nor the Charter - he works against the party.
Euroradio: Maybe, these 92 people simply did not support you as a presidential candidate?
Ryhor Kastusyou: This is not the issue of the first importance. Even before the Congress-2009 in September, when new party leaders were elected, I had information that the former leaders had an idea to "hand in" the party to a non-party person for the presidential election. There was information about the idea to transfer the party into a new organization and to create a new political force giving in the BPF party".
Euroradio: Do you mean Andrej Sannikau now?
Ryhor Kastusyou: I cannot tell you exactly who will be the leader of the new political force. However, the fact that the news about leaving BPF first appeared at the web-site Charter'97 proves this. However, I don't know who will be elected as a leader.
Euroradio: Will this demonstrative leave severely damage the party's reputation?
Ryhor Kastusyou: This will not damage the party's reputation, we will only benefit from this. We have more than 3,5 thousand members recorded, about 1 thousand of them are members of Minsk city BPF organization.
Euroradio: Why did so many people leave the party? Yanukevich told us there would be no more that 30.
Ryhor Kastusyou: I haven't looked through the list, published by Charter'97, yet. I cannot say for sure whether all those persons are BPF members. There have been no confirmation so far".
