Russians steal Belarusian condensed milk brand
Meanwhile, Chinese and Turks stole the Belarusian underwear brand. The counterfeighted goods may be sold in Belarus as well.
"In order to sell their goods, they take a label of the Rahachou milk plant, for condensed milk, and paste it on the packages to make the production look as Belarusian one. And then complaints arrive, reclamations to the address of the Rahachou milk plant. We start investigating what's happening and understand they are using our brand", - the association "BelBrand" complains to Euroradio about the Russians.
Apart from condensed milk, the Belarusian brands for the following goods have such kind of popularity - household chemicals, cosmetics and underwear. "Barhim" and "Milavitsa" suffer the most. The counterfeighted production sometimes even gets to Belarus and is sold at our markets.
All this happens "thanks to"... the Customs Union with Russia and Kazakhstan, representatives of "BelBrand" claim.
"The counterfeited goods from China and Turkey are delivered here through Kazakhstan. They have "Milavitsa" labels from the start. The border between Kazakhstan and China is transparent, for transportation of goods. And we have a common customs space. This is how the counterfeited goods get to Russia and Belarus".
The manufacturer of "Belcosmex" cosmetics found out literally yesterday that some production with their brand on it was sold in one of the shops in Kazan, which is in Russia. Representative of the company's marketing department Katsiaryna Puchko has told to Euroradio that it all may end in court.
"First, we will contact this shop. We always try to solve problems via negotiations or correspondence. If we fail in this we will certainly go to the court".
Not all manufacturers are this determined. "BelBrand" lawyers say that Belarusians are simply not ready to defend their brands.
"Our company tries to file some complaints, but there's nothing more usually. They probably doubt that there will be any effect, or when they fail at initial stages they don't want to continue the process. This is their serious problem - they do not want to defend their own interests".
