“This is an art prize awarded every two years. We have been awarded for the monument to Kupala in Moscow”, - sculptor Syarhei Humilyouski comments on the union state prize. – It is a huge sum of money, about 100 thousand dollars. It was divided among five people”.

The union state prize is over 5 million Russian roubles or 1.5 billion Belarusian roubles.

As Euroradio has found out, sculptor Syarhei Humilyouski received about 20 thousand dollars. He has confessed that the money was spent on sculptures.

 “There are a lot of sculptures as the work very expensive at the moment. A lot of things I wanted to make had accumulated”.

Doctors cannot even dream of such awards. Minsk City Executive Committee’s prize is only 1.8 millions. However, it is awarded to 150 Minsk doctors. “The man of the year” received even less money in Lyahavichy District – 350 thousand roubles.

The state leader’s prize awarded to cultural and art workers in 2011 is smaller than the Russian prize – a bit more than 12 millions. Sportsmen get the same sum in “Belarusian Sports Olympus”.

The coach of the canoe-paddling and kayak-paddling team, Uladzimir Shatarovich, received the prize last year. He cannot think of what he spent it on as he did not even notice it.
“I can’t even think of the exact sum. Some money. It was pleasant to receive it from the President. The prize was like part of my salary and I did not notice what I had spent it on. I probably spent it on my household”.
Teacher of Nyazvish family children’s home Halina Bushmakina did notice the prize for “Spiritual Rebirth”. The 12 millions will be spent on repairs of their adopted daughter’s flat.
“My husband made the decision. The adopted daughter is building a flat. She needs money for the balcony. And it is necessary to buy her a sofa too”, - counts Halina.
The winner of “Dazhynki 2011”, combine operator Uladzimir Korsak, received 9 millions and a PC. He spent the prize on his household and gave the computer to his son.

 “I received 9 millions and a computer. The prize was spent on the household. I have a PC so I gave the new PC to my second son”.

Teacher of foreign languages Inessa Zubrylina became teacher of the year. Her prize is smaller than the combine operator’s but the gift is more expensive: a Lada 12.

“I go to work on foot because it’s close. However, I also use my car now. I have a Lada 12. There was also a small prize – about a million”.
Mothers who have 5 or more children receive an order and an award that is thrice smaller than the combine operator’s prize. A bit more than 2.5 million roubles.
