Surapin talked to Swedes. But only after teddy bear photos were published

“Urgent! Urgent! I need to find classes of English. I could speak to Italians well last year. And I can barely understand Swedes now:'(”, — wrote Anton Surapin on "VKontakte" on the evening of July 5, a day after the publication of the photos of teddy bears on his website.

The photographer expressed his happiness about the fact that many people had got interested in his website thanks to the "anonymous" photos a few hours later - at 2.12 p.m. : "You take pictures every day and only a few hundred people look through them. And then some anonymous author sends you a few pictures and they attract a few thousand visitors". The journalist also says that the Swedes asked him for details in the comments to this note: "The Swedes are asking for details, but I do not know what details they mean". Probably, the foreigners found Surapin in order to get some information from him.

Swedes did contact him. But they were not the ones who flew over Belarus. Those were Swedish journalists interested in the performance details. Andrei told them that he did not know any details and had received the photos from a fake e-mail.", - said Anton Surapin's friend to Euroradio.

Speaking about the correspondence, Anton Surapin's acquaintances are asking to delete their messages and not to reveal their names.

 "Journalists from the Swedish edition accused of "distributing false information about the landing" were interested in the photo. They were looking for witnesses here in Belarus. They said: here are witnesses, here are teddy bears, it proves that we did not lie", - added a friend of the photographer's.

Let us remind you that journalist Anton Surapin was detained on Friday, July 13, more than a week after the Swedes' action. He was one of the first people to have published pictures of "teddy bears - paratroopers". KGB searched Surapin's flat before the arrest. The fact that the journalist is suspected of assisting in a case of illegal crossing of the border became known on Monday, July 16. The term of his detention was prolonged to 10 days. His friends have noticed that the journalist's "VKontakte" account has been active a few times since his arrest.
