There are three times more casinos in Minsk than in Las Vegas
Only Serabranka, Chyzhouka and Shabany districts have no casinos.
"There were 115 legal entities at the moment of April 1. They conduct their activity in the sphere of the gambling business. As for casinos, there are 32 of them in Minsk" - they tell Euroradio in the tax inspection of Minsk.
The majority of the "gambling business points" are clubs with game machines, like the famous "one-arm bandit".
Besides, there are much less casinos in the American Las Vegas, which has become the world center of the roulette game with no exaggeration. There are only 11 casinos in Downhill - the city's gambling business center. However, it is impossible to compare Belarusian and American casinos - all information about the clients is confidential, they tell us in the posh Minsk casino "Shangri-La":
"The information about our clients is strictly confidential, we cannot tell you anything".
There are different casinos in the capital - posh establishments on the premises of 5-stars hotels, located in the very center of Minsk, and more modest ones - in residential districts. It is interesting that there are no casinos in Serabranka, Chyzhouka and Shabany so far. These are the only micro-districts of Minsk untouched by this achievement of civilization.
Having called to approximately a dozen of gambling establishments, Euroradio managed to obtain a bit of information about the clients of Minsk casinos. It turned out that Belarusians made...about a half! The rest are "Russian brothers".
"In percentage, we have approximately 50/50, or maybe 70% of Belarusians and 30% of Russians. This is because the gambling industry is prohibited in Russia, apart from several gambling zones. This is why the Russians are quite willing to go to Belarus", - they tell us in the posh casino "Royal" at the premises of the hotel "Minsk" in the Independence Square.
In Russia, casinos are indeed prohibited at the majority of territories. They can conduct their activity legally only in Kaliningrad region, as well as in Altai Territory, Primorsk Territory and Krasnodar Territory since July 1, 2009. It is allowed only to gamble on sports and to play lottery at the remaining Russian territories.
