Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu uses living wage for shopping in Chervenski Market
The politician has visited Minsk Chervenski Market with journalists.
There were two reasons to go to the market. Firstly, the former candidate has checked how many products could be bought with the living wage (about 340 thousand rubles). Secondly, Nyaklyayeu wanted to find out what sellers thought about the future demolition of Chervenski Market.
He faced problems near the entrance to the market. The head of the market security service did not want to allow journalists to enter and claimed that it was forbidden to take pictures and videos there. However, Nyaklyayeu managed to persuade the attentive guard.
The politician purchased a lot of products in the market; however, the amount was minute. Nyaklyayeu bought curds, tomatoes, cucumbers, sausage, vegetables and potatoes. The ex-candidate said that it would not be enough for a month even taking into account the fact that he still had 120 thousand left.
Besides journalists, the politician was accompanied by policemen in plain clothes. Their presence seemed to impede sellers. Only one seller said that she would like Chervenski Market to remain where it was.
