Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov to be buried in Moscow

Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov killed on February 28 night is going to be buried in Moscow today. Nemtsov will be buried in Troyekurskoye Cemetery. The civil funeral will start at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. in Sakharov Centre.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and PM Dmitri Medvedev will not attend the civil funeral and the burial ceremony. However, 28 EU Ambassadors and a number of European officials will come. The Belarusian opposition will be represented by UCP leader Anatol Lyabedzka.

Boris Nemtsov was 55 years old. He was one of the leaders of the Russian opposition movement, took part in street actions ad was arrested. He was the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in the 1990s and Minister of Fuel and Energy, senior vice PM and an MP. Nemtsov was a member of the Union of Right Forces, opposition movement Solidarity and the co-leader of the Republican Party of Russia – People's Freedom Party (RPR-PARNAS) since 2012.
