Scandinavian countries to buy wallpaper, glass from Belarus
The wallpaper factory in Homel and the Hrodna-based glass maker Neman will export their products to Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Vyachaslau Khilkevich, the head of sales department at Homelspalery, told Belapan that on January 23 the factory signed a contract with the Swedish company S.A. Trading & Technik to supply a variety of wallpapers. This Stockholm-based wholesale company looks to become a dealer of the Belarusian factories in Scandinavian countries.
"The pilot delivery worth of $40-50,000 will take place February. But we plan to increase exports to the Scandinavian countries if the market situation is conducive", Khilkevich said. He also noted that the factory was currently enjoying attention from potential partners in Bulgaria, Poland and France. "Expensive products now sell hard in Europe. In Sweden, one roll of a wallpaper costs an average of 23 euros, while our wallpaper costs 5 euros", Khilkevich said.
The Neman glass-maker said that it signed contract with S.A. Trading & Technik on January 20. The pilot delivery will be supplied to Sweden next week already. The factory hopes that Sweden can become a long-term partner.
