Shuma change lyrics of their Eurovision song

The band Shuma have changed the lyrics of their Eurovision-2018 song Hmarki (Clouds). The Belarusian ethnic electronic band have reported the news on Facebook: “We have changed the people’s lyrics together with [poet] Maks Shchur. Phonetic peculiarities, the name, sense, melody and the first phrase are still from the people’s variant.” The decision has been made due to the fact that people’s lyrics are acceptable in the Belarusian selection tour but are not allowed at the international contest.”

Lawyers were planning to check Shuma’s Eurovision song because of the people’s lyrics as it could contradict the terms of the contest. However, it is not a problem anymore.

The final of the national selection tour is appointed for February 16.
