Lithuanian parliamaent politicizes Belarusian NPP construction - Belarus DPM

Belarusian vice PM Uladzimir Syamashka has commented on the Lithuanian Seimas’ law that has announced the NPP in Astravets a threat to national security. Lithuanian MPs are politicising the issue instead of discussing the main points, the official noted.
"This process is too politicized. Belarusians suffered most from the Chernobyl disaster and we understand that is it necessary to take all the precautions to build a safe NPP.”
The 7th Session of the Espoo Convention is being held in Minsk these days (June 13-16). The construction of Astravets NPP is the most disputable issue. The states participating in the ecological forum are discussing it behind closed doors.
"Гэты працэс надта палітызаваны. Не ў соль, не ў сутнасць пытання, вось што я магу сказаць. Бо хто, як не беларусы, найбольш пацярпелыя ад Чарнобыльскай трагедыі, разумеюць, што такое будаваць АЭС і ўлічыць усе патрабаванні, выпрацаваныя сумным досведам чалавецтва".
