Two terror attacks hit Istanbul
The police in Istanbul killed two terrorists. No grouping claimed responsibility for the terror acts in the Turkish capital.
A bomb went off at a police office in Istanbul on the morning of August 10. Part of the multistory building was destroyed. Shooting started after the blast. Two attackers and one policeman were killed, RIA Novosti reports.
10 people (there police officers and seven peaceful citizens) were injured. No terrorist organization has assumed responsibility for the terrorist act yet.
Another incident occurred in the city later. Two people opened fire attacking the U.S. Consulate. A man and a woman were suspected of the attack. They fled. No details of the incident have been reported and no information about victims is available.
The police detained a woman suspected of attacking the U.S. Consulate, Reuters referred to the Turkish TV Channel NTV later.
Both attacks occurred during a large-scale operation of detention of Islamists and Kurdish activists that had begun at the end of July.
