Uladzimir Berazhkou’s son flees Belarus
Mikita Berazhkou says he wants to protect himself and his family while his father, ex-CEO of Dynamo Minsk hockey club is under arrest.
Mikita Brazhkou, the son of detained HC Dynama Minsk ex-CEO Uladzimir Berazhkou, has left Belarus. He crossed the state border at about 2 p.m. on August 27. Mikita reported it to Komsomolskaya Pravda himself.
He wants to protect himself and his family, he claimed. Mikita is confident that his father did not steal anything. The money that was arrested on Uladzimir Bewrazhkou’s account (Br1 billion 800 million) was received for selling his flat. Berazhkou sold it in July and was arrested a week later. His father had bought the flat before he started working in the hockey club, Mikita noted.
Berazhkou is accused of misappropriation of money that belonged to the hockey club (1 billion 90 million roubles) ‘by means of power abuse’. He gave a job to his acquaintance who was paid 15 millions a month and received huge monthly bonuses. He also ‘took money from the person’s card every month’. About a billion roubles was stolen within a year.
Berazhkou has already compensated for the loss of 133 million roubels and is ready to keep doing it, the investigators said. He also wants to seek Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s pardon.
