Vital Koush’s sentence to be reconsidered for third time
Brest Province Court has appointed the hearing for December 6, human rights activist Raman Kislyak said.
The civil activist was imprisoned for 4 years with property confiscation. Koush was returned guilty of organizing an attempt to cross the Belarusian-Polish border by walking the tightrope for 8 Indians in May 2012.
The sentence was appealed but another commission of Brest Province Court repeated the previous verdict.
By the way, Koush’s assumed accomplice came to the Investigation Committee after the trial. 54-year-old Alyaksandr Varvashenya was wanted. According to witnesses, he was in Moscow. He was hoping that Koush would be acquitted. Varvashenya wants to fight for justice himself now, his wife said.
