Vital Koush’s sentence remains in power
The civil activist is imprisoned for 4 years and his property will be confiscated.
The time he spent in jail starting from last autumn will be included in his term of imprisonment. The decision was made by Brest District Court.
The Brester is accused of organizing a trip over the Belarusian-Polish border for 8 Indian citizens in May 2012. They wanted to walk the tightrope and get to Poland.
Vital Koush pled not guilty. He said that the case was rigged and that he evidence was contradictory. According to the expertise, the witness’ cell phone was 6 kilometres away from the place where she signed the report.
There is an Internet video showing two Indians with open passports saying that they had been made to slander strangers in Brest. The video was published a year ago.
