War veteran poses "uncomfortable" questions to Lukashenka

War veteran Fiodar Malshkevich from the village of Borki in the Hantsavichy district posed several written questions to Alexander Lukashenka and received an answer. A 84-year-old war veteran suggested that the head of the state take under his control the state television, Sportloto lottery in the first place. He was interested in who funded this show and why it hosted a "harem of girls". The veteran also asked why the government spent huge money on the Slavic Bazaar while elderly were deprived of social benefits. Fiodar Malashkevich advised Lukashenka not to allow stupid people to take part in running the country.

Leanid Tsupryk, a deputy chairman of the Brest regional executive committee, responded with thanks to the veteran for his civil position and promised that his suggestions would be taken into account in the further operation of the local authorities.

However, the district authorities were not sympathetic to Malashkevich's initiative. After his children felt pressure, they asked their father to stop writing any letters.
