Will Belarus have to pay for gas in Russian roubles instead of dollars?
"Gazprom” has suggested that its partners in the neighbouring countries should start paying for gas in Russian roubles in 2009. The Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has informed about it.
He mentioned it during his speech at the International investment forum in Sochi: “Don’t you think that it is strange that we are selling gas to Belarus for dollars”.
Putin also thinks that companies working in Russia should also use Russian roubles in some deals. It concerns the oil and gas sector in the first place.
