Will Council of EU discuss abolition of sanctions against Makey today?
The session of the Council of the EU on foreign affairs will be held on Monday in Luxembourg.
The discussion of the situation in the Eastern Partnership will be held on the eve of the Council on the EU-Ukraine cooperation. It will also be held today, informs interfax.by.
The Cooperation Council will be chaired by Ireland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore. Ireland now holds the EU presidency.
The agenda of the Cooperation Council contains the key issues connected with the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius. It is possible that the participants of meeting will discuss abolition of sanctions against Foreign Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Makey. He got into the "black list" of the EU after the dispersal of the protest action on December 19, 2010. Uladzimir Makey headed the Presidential Administration then.
