22-year-old Lukashenko's companion runs for Belarus parliament

Miss Belarus 2018 Maryia Vasilevich, 22 who always accompanies President Lukashenko during public events will run for a seat in the House of Representatives from Minsk's Kalvaryjski Constituency No 104. On 6 September, she was registered as a candidate by the constituency election commission, reports the press office of Minsk's Frunzenski District administration.
The beauty will compete with opposition activist Maksim Viniarski and state-owned road repairs company CEO Henadz Nasevich.
Maryia Vasilevich began to appear in public along with the head of state after the final of the Miss Belarus 2018 beauty pageant, where President Lukashenko was also present. She accompanies Lukashenko at public events of all sorts ranging from the collection of watermelons or potatoes at Lukashenko's gardens to hockey matches and the festivities of Brest City's 1000th anniversary. Maryia graduated from the Management and Economics Faculty at the Belarusian State Economic University. She currently works as a co-host in the Good Morning Belarus! morning show on the Belarusian state TV channel Belarus 1.
