30 cars confiscated from drunken drivers in Minsk Province
These cars have been confiscated since the introduction of the new drunken driving prevention law.
BelaPAN has reported it referring to head of the District Department of the Interior of Minsk Province Executive Committee Victar Syanko. Two vehicles belonged to legal entities, the policeman said.
11 road accidents occurred in Minsk Province in 2013 (150 – in 2012). 20 people died and 127 were injured. Over 7300 people were detained for drunken driving by Minsk province driving inspectorate. 693 criminal cases were started for repeated drunken driving.
The amendments imposing more responsibility on drunken drivers came into power on October 24, 2013.
