7 bloggers and participants of protest actions will stand trial in Brest on Monday. Andrei Dzyanyushkin, Ruslan Halikau and Dzmitry Lyauchuk were detained after a non-freeloaders action on March 5, Radio Liberty reports. They were supposed to be released on March 10 but it did not happen. The young men were detained again. They spent the weekend in jail waiting for the trial.
Local blogger Syarhei Pyatruhin and his cameraman Dzmitry Harbunou were detained in Brest on March 12. They will stand trial for participation in an unauthorized action. Uladzimir Asinchak detained when pasting leaflets about the protest actions will also have to stand trial. Kanstantsin Kopats arrested at home will stand trial on charges of participation in an unauthorised action.
Similar trials will be held in other Belarusian cities. Civil activist Ales Meh will stand trial in Kobryn. Hrodna trials have been appointed for March 14. Tatstsyana Sevyarynets will stand trial for participation in Vitsebsk Non-Freeloaders’ March on March 21.
