Activists disrupt beginning of 1863x.com trial (video)
The hearing of the 1863x.com case could not start on time. Activists who came to the court room disrupted the trial. Natallya Harachka-Basalyha brought a banner to express her protest against the prosecution of the website administrator Eduard Palchys.
The hearing was delayed for 15 minutes and was held in another court room.
Minsk Central Court had to decide whether materials published on the website 1863x.com were extremist. Eduard Palchys (also known s John Silver), the website founder and administrator, was not brought to court. His lawyer represented his interests.
Palchys is in Minsk detention centre #1 where is expecting another trial now. He is accused of arousing ‘national, racial or religious hostility’ and ‘distribution of pornography’. Minsk City Court will consider his case. The date of the trial has not been appointed yet.
