Alena Kupchyna to speak at UNESCO conference
Deputy Foreign Minister Alena Kupchyna will make a speech at the 38th session of the UNESCO general conference on November 5. Kupchyna will report the country’s position and priorities on cooperation with UNESCO, BelaPAN refers to the Belarusian Embassy to France. She will also meet director general of the organization Irina Bokova on the same day.
195 member states are taking part in the main UNESCO forum. There are 80 items on the agenda including activity reports for the period of up to 2030, the programme and budget for 2016-2018 and a number of other questions.
UNESCO will mark its 70th anniversary during this year’s session. A special forum will be held on November 16 and 17. The 20th session of the general assembly for members of he 1972 World Heritage Convention will also be held.
