Alena Lanskaya's producer found dead (updated)
The body of 38-year-old Dzmitry Baranau was found in his own car.
Spamash producer general Dzmitry Baranau died of cardiac arrest, People's Artist of Belarus and Eurofest song contest chief Aliaksandr Tsikhanovich told Belapan, citing post-mortem examination results.
According to Tsikhanovich, Dzmitry died in the evening of August 9 when sitting in his car. A Minsk resident saw him parking the car but faling to get off the vehicle.
Aliaksandr Tsikhanovich noted that Baranau never had heart complaints. Moreover, he liked to work out and jogged every day. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 12.
Dzmitry Baranau is survived by his parents and the younger brother.
Dzmitry Baranau grabbed media and public attention after the scandal over vote-rigging during the national qualification for the Eurovision 2012 song contest. After President Lukashenka ordered a proper investigation, Baranau was accused of rigging and eventually lost his job at Belarus state television. Some time later, Dzmitry Baranau became general producer of Belarusian singer Alena Lanskaya who represented Belarus at Eurovision 2013 in Sweden.
