All-Belarusian Congress for Independence to be held in December
Decision was taken on September 20 at the regular meeting of the organizing committee.
The organizing committee was joined by academician Radzim Garetsky, Professor Mikola Savitsky, writer Uladzimir Arlou, director Uladzimir Kolas and Doctor of Law, Professor Mikhail Pastukhou, reports nn.by.
Former Constitutional Court judge Mikhail Pastukhou believes that there are reasonable grounds to organize the congress. On May 29, 2014 in Astana, the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia signed an agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union. It is planned to ratify it in the near future.
According to the lawyer, this contract has provisions that carry a direct threat to the independence of Belarus. Thus, Article 6 deals with the legal acts adopted by supranational bodies and are binding on the states parties EurAsEC. According to Article 13, the subscribing country cannot get out of the Union without the consent of other countries. And if the treaty is ratified, it can be argued about the real danger for the sovereignty of Belarus, said Mikhail Pastukhou.
The organizing committee for the preparation and convening of the All-Belarusian Congress for independence was established on 30 August. Alena Anisim, deputy chairperson of the Belarusian Language Society was elected Coordinator of the organizing committee.
