Activist Malchanau summoned to court to extend preventive supervision term
The court hearing will be held at 9.40 a.m. on January 4.
Alyaksandr Malchanau, person involved in the Dec.19 2010 post-election protests case, suggests in his Facebook blog that that the reason for the summons is that he forgot to check in with the police station on one occasion, BelaPAN reports. He needs to register there twice a month. Malchanau was fined. He will also stay under surveillance until July 2014.
Malchanau was convicted again after having been pardoned for the December 19, 2010 case. The young man failed to find a job in Barysau and started collecting scrap metal on the site of an abandoned plant. He was found guilty of stealing in April 2012 and spent 1.5 years in prison. Malchanau was released in July 2013.
