Application for Chernobyl March-2010 filed by Belarusian Christian Democracy activists
Activists from the Belarusian Christian Democracy party's organizing committee have filed an application with the Minsk City Council to stage the traditional Chernobyl March, Vital Rymasheuski, a co-chairman of the organizing committee told journalists in Minsk.
The Chernobyl March demonstration is planned to start near the Academy of Sciences and proceed to October Square. Participants are invited to gather at the starting point at 1800 on April 26.
Belapan notes that this year mostly activists from the Belarusian Christian Democracy act as the main organizers of the even. In the previous years, the Chernobyl March was usually organized by representatives of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front.
This year, Popular Front will simply join the demonstration just like entrepreneurs, the organizing commitettee of the Movement for Motherland as well as Chernobyl-related initiatives and NGOs.
