Opposition submits application for Chernobyl March 2014 in Minsk
Chernobyl March is organized annually by pro-democracy forces since late 1980s to mark the anniversary of Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
The steering committee has decided not to walk towards Chernobyl Chapel in Bangalore Square and to head for Kurapaty where victims of the communist regime mass repressions were buried. The application has been sent to Minsk City Executive Committee today, on April 9, and the application for a meeting in Kurapaty will be sent to Mink City Executive Committee later.
"We are thinking about the survival of the whole Belarusian nation nowadays and such tragedies as the Chernobyl disaster and the elimination of Belarusians in Kurapaty should not be perceived separately,” BelaPAN quotes one of the applicants – BFP leader Alyaksei Yanukovich.
