Australia to take part in Eurovision-2015
A country situated far from the European continent will join the contest in the final.
The organizers of Eurovision have invited Australia to take part in the contest in connection with its 60th anniversary. The country will be allowed to take part in the final in Vienna on May 23. 40 countries will participate in the contest, BBC reports.
Australia will become a finalist not to decrease the chances of semi-finalists and because its participation will be an exception, European Broadcasting Union explained.
Australia will be allowed to vote in both semifinals and in the final. The other countries will be allowed to vote for the Australian candidate that still has to be chosen. If Australia wins, the next contest will be organized in Europe anyway but Australia will be able to defend its title.
