Authorities in 20 cities reject picket applications in support of Kozulin
The government has refused to okay pickets on August 30 in support of political prisoner Alexander Kozulin.
At least 50 appplications in 20 cities across Belarus were filed by the activists from the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada), the Belarusian Party of Communists, the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada and independent activists.
According to Anatol Lyaukovich, the acting chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), the government would use various reasons to reject pickets: the need to repair streets or just saying that there are no political prisoners in Belarus, reports Belapan.
