The average dollar exchange rate has increased by 320 Belarusian roubles in one day – from 11140 to 11460. There are almost no dollars or euro left in currency exchange offices. Only dollars sold by other people were available. The only exception was the Russian rouble, BelaPAN reports.
Meanwhile, the dollar exchange rate increased by only 20 roubles at the Belarusian Stock Exchange – Br10890.
Belarus ‘will not follow Russia and will not devaluate the national rouble’, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said on Thursday. He demanded to use dollars or euro in trade relations with Russia. He also noted that a groundless increase in prices was inadmissible. The stability in the money market also depends on the population, the President announced. “You can assault foreign currency exchange offices if you want another default,” he said.
