Baltic bank reports client who withdrew $1.5 mln to authorities in Belarus
A deputy director of Belarus-based enterprise is reported to have withdrawn $1.5 million in cash from a bank in a Baltic state.
The Department of Financial Monitoring at Belarus' State Control Committee was immediately tipped about the transaction by a bank in a Baltic state. According to Aliaksandr Maksimenka, the head of the Department, the man was detained in Belarus. Initially, he refused to confirm that he withdraw the money. However, Belarus interrogators showed him the bank confirmation print-outs and the photographs from CCTV footage near the cash machine, reports SB. Belarus Today.
