Barack Obama plans to expand list of potential targets in Syria
There were 50 targtes in the beginning, now there can be more.
According to New York Times, the strikes would be aimed not at the chemical stockpiles themselves but rather the military units that have stored and prepared the chemical weapons and carried the attacks against Syrian rebels in Damascus. Other targets would include the headquarters overseeing the effort, and the rockets and artillery that have launched the attacks, and the air defense bases.
Previously it was planned that the ship-launched cruise missiles, located at the U.S. ships in the Mediterranean sea, will conduct strikes against Syria.
The U.S. Congress is to consider the issue of the attack against Syria on September 9.
