Belarus bans beer drinking in public places
The House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament, on June 11 passed in the first reading the amendments to the Administrative Code which envisage responsibility for drinking beer in public places. Drinking spirits or beer on streets, stadiums, parks, squares, on public transport or other public places will be penalized by a fine of Br280,000 ($100), reports Belapan. The same fine will be applied for appearing drunk in a public place.
Similar actions will be penalized by an administrative arrest if committed repeatedly within one year since the first punishment.
