Belarus to cut university term by one year

The university term in Belarus can be reduced by one year, according to the proposal sponsored by Uladzimir Zdanovich, the chairman of the Culture, Science and Technical Progress Commission at the House of Representatives. He said there was a drop in the number of foreign students in Belarus in the recent years also due to a long term of the education.

In the view of Zdanovich, a shorter academic term could attract foreign students.

This provision will be discussed during drafting the education code.
