Belarus' foreign debt grew $5.5 million over two months
As of 1 March, the foreign debt of Belarus amounted to 12.5 billion dollars. Since the beginning of the year, it has increased by $5.5 million (including exchange rate differences), or 0.04%.
According to BelTA with reference to the Ministry of Finance, in January-February Belarus received external public loans of 133.6 million dollars. Chinese banks' debts amounted to 56.5 million dollars, 69.1 million dollars - from the Russian government, $8 million - from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In addition, since the beginning of 2016, Belarus has paid 102.4 million dollars for the repayment of external state loan. At the same time, payments to Chinese banks accounted for 45.4 million dollars, the Russian government - $50 million IBRD - $7 million.
The state debt of Belarus, as of March 1, was $379 trillion rubles. If compared with the beginning of 2016, it increased by 50.4 trillion rubles, or 15.4%. Domestic public debt amounted to 115.5 trillion rubles, since the beginning of the year, it has grown by 14.1 trillion rubles (including exchange rate differences - 12.7 trillion), or 14.4%.
