Wooden bicycle from Belarus - in pictures

A Belarusian company specializing in the production of wooden doors has begun to manufacture bicycles made of wood – birch-tree or ash tree. All the bicycles are hand-made.

One wooden bicycle weighs 21 kilograms. A birch-tree bicycle costs BYN1890 ($900);  an ash tree bicycle costs BYN2290 (approx. $1145). Bicycles are sold with a five-year warranty.

The company refers to the existence of wooden bicycle in Belarus in the first half of the 20th century. A wooden bicycle made in 1933 is showcased in the Belarusian Palesse Museum in Pinsk.
