Belarus ties fuel prices to US dollar exchange rate
Belarus' petrochemical giant Belneftekhim announces a new pricing policy after car fuel price is raised for the third time this year.
"New approaches for a further change in the car fuel prices have been agreed," Belneftekhim is quoted by Belapan. The decision was taken to determine petrol Ai-92-K5-Euro as the indicaitive brand that will be indexed according to the US dollar exchange rate. The maximum ceiling retail price for Аі-92-К5-Euro will be gradually set at the equivalent of USD1 per 1 liter."
According to Belneftekhim, indexation of retail prices depending on the US dollar/Belarusian rubel exchange rate "will allow combining the state and market regulation of prices and bring the car fuel pricing policy to international standards."
The new retail prices have been increased by 4.1% - a third increase in the course of this year.
