Belarus will not sell Naftan's shares in 2008

Belarus will not sell shares of the oil refinery Naftan, Belarus Deputy Economy Minister Aleh Melnikau said in a statement. He admitted that there is "a foreign investor", but noted that there was no concrete plans to sell the company.

Media reports suggested recently that Naftan management announced about selling more than 50 percent of shares to the Russian oil company Lukoil.

Both the Naftan and the Russian company declined a comment on this information, reports Belapan
