Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus is the 2023 Australian Open winner, having defeated in the final Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The match lasted two and a half hours.

Sabalenka will receive about two million dollars for her victory in Australia.

On Monday, Aryna will move up to No.2 in the world rankings. Poland's Iga Świątek will remain No 1.

The Belarus state television does not have the rights to broadcast the Australian Open, viewers of "Belarus 5" could watch the tournament as part of a "parallel import" - a pirated copy of the original broadcast

Sabalenka continues to compete under a neutral flag and there will be no mention of her home nation etched next to her name on the trophy, but she batted away questions about the topic with a simple answer: "I think everyone still knows that I'm Belarusian player," according to BBC.
