Businesses in Belarus reported almost $3 billion losses in January
The Belarusian statistics agency Belstat publishes shocking information about the financial results of Belarusian companies.
Almost 8 thousand Belarusian companies lost Br42.9 trillion in January 2015. It is $2.98 billion. 29% of companies were loss-making. Every company lost $1.7 million in January. Belarusian companies’ net income was $260 million a year ago, Nasha Niva reports.
Banks, insurance companies, budget organizations and small business are not included in the report made by Belstat.
This is the result of external factors, economist Syarhei Chaly told Nasha Niva. Companies lost money on the difference of exchange rates and the bookkeeping losses may be liquidated within two years by decreasing the income, he said.
