Mikhail Holtsau/ Belarusian Foreign Ministry
Mikhail Holtsau, Belarusian Consul in Bialystok, Poland, has been dismissed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Polish media outlet wyborcza.pl, the reason for his dismissal was the diplomat's announcement of the real presidential election results.
According to media reports, Holtsau did not agree with the fake voting results at the Bialystok consulate. Officially, Alyaksandr Lukashenka won there. but in fact, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya received almost 90% of the votes.
After the elections, Holtsau told protesters from the Belarusian diaspora the real results. At the time, Consul General of Belarus in Bialystok Alla Fyodarava even promised that he would be punished for this. As a result, he was fired.
