Belarus' IVAN in Eurovision semifinal tonight
Belarusian singer Ivan will compete for the right to take part in the Eurovision final. The second semifinal will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 12. It will be broadcast live on Belarus 1 at 10 p.m.
Ivan will be the 5th to perform his song Help Me Fly. 3D holograms of wolves will be used in his performance. However, bookmakers do not think that the Belarusian can make it to the final. Ukraine and Austria are the favourites. Serbia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Belgium, Israel, Poland and Norway are likely to make it to the final too. Lithuania, Slovenia, Denmark, Georgia and Belarus will compete for the 10th place, RIA Novosti reports.
The best result reached by Belarus at Eurovision was Dzmitry Kaldun’s 6th place in the final of Euriovision-2007.
The first 10 finalists were defined in the first Eurovision semifinal: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Austria, Hungary, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Malta, Russia, Croatia and the Czech Republic. The final will be held on May 14.
