Belarusians bought in Poland 237 mln dollars worth of goods in 2015
In 2015, the Polish customs service in Podlaskie province on the border with Belarus registered 1.2 million Tax Free checks. According to tut.by, the total amount of purchases based on these documents reached 920 thousand zlotys (about 4 trillion 497 billion rubles, or 237.3 million dollars at the exchange rate of the National Bank as of January 1 of this year). This figure was named by a spokesman for the Customs Chamber in Bialystok Maciej Czerniecki.
Thus, within a year, the spendings of the Belarusians in Poland increased by more than 1 trillion rubles. In 2014, our compatriots took the goods from Poland for the sum of more than 3 trillion 350 billion rubles. But in foreign currency, the expenses of Belarusians in the Polish stores decreased by 80 million zlotys in 2015. Over the past year, the number of Tax Free checks, registered at checkpoints of Podlaskie province also decreased -- there became 30 thousand fewer of them.
According to the Polish customs officers, the goods that Belarusins are most actively importing from Poland include electronic appliances, food, household chemicals, building materials, clothing and spare parts for cars.
